LIGHTS, CAMERAS, ACTION

Lambeth Housing Services and Environment and Street Scene Teams have been working hard to improve the lighting on Rush Common and St Matthews Estate.

The works were part of planned improvements following complaints and concerns from local residents and community groups.

The improvements that the new and updated lighting have made are obvious and go a long way in making the areas brighter and safer after dark, overgrown trees and shrubbery have also been cut back and will be maintained to ensure clear lines of site, also minimising dark and shadowy spaces.

Lambeth Infrastructure and Capital Deliver Team have also been making improvements on Belinda Road with the renewal of lanterns on the existing lighting columns, improving the overall lighting levels.

They are also installing new CCTV cameras on Belinda Road and Somerleyton Passage with further works to be carried out across the borough, please check future News stories for updates.
